    Perry Outreach Program for Girls

    The Perry Outreach Program is a free, one-day, hands-on experience for high school women who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and engineering. Students will hear from women leaders in these fields and try it for themselves by performing mock orthopaedic surgeries and biomechanics experiments.

    We are now seeking applicants for our Warsaw, IN program. Participants should be women in grades 10 and up with an expressed interest in science, medicine and/or engineering.

    College Bound Juniors

    Two things you must do your junior year:

    1. Visit college campuses

    2. Take your SAT's in March, May or June if you are interested in attending a four-year institution.

    Junior Year Timeline

    All Year

    -Follow Steps 1 and 2 of the College Application Timeline.

    -Attend area college fairs.

    -Visit colleges.

    -Continue to keep grades up all year.

    -If you have not worked a job or volunteered, apply for a job or find community service projects that fit your interests.

    September

    -Sign up for the PSAT through the Guidance Office (this is a free test that WHS offers to prepare you for the SAT)

    October

    -Take the PSAT at Wawasee HS.

    December

    -Review results of PSAT test.

    January - February

    -Plan to take the SAT at least twice during the spring. Register for the March SAT.

    -Schedule senior year classes carefully.

    March

    -Begin to narrow your choices of colleges.

    -Take the March SAT. (SAT School Day at Wawasee High School)

    -Consider taking the ACT - register if you decide to take it.

    April

    -Register for the June SAT if needed.

    May

    -Take the May SAT.

    -Look for a summer job.

    June - July

    -Take the June SAT if needed.

    -Check application deadlines.
