Tentative Superintendent Hiring Timeline

Your Spring Break is April 6 – 10, 2026

  • February 2nd - Meeting with the University Search Team for initial training and to plan the hiring process and timeline.
  • February 2-9 - Prepare the job advertisement and application form
  • February 9th - March 13, 2026 – Advertise opening, accept applications, complete staff and community survey, develop desired superintendent profile based on the community input.
  • March 16 – 18 – Share survey results
  • March 16-24 – University Search Team meets with Board to present candidates
  • March 24 – April 17 – Board conducts interviews and negotiates contract
  • April 20-30 – Advertise contract
  • April 30 – May 7 – Hold public hearing and hire superintendent
  • April 30 – July 1 – Negotiated start date for superintendent based on allowing the candidate to honor obligations, commitments and responsibilities from the job they are leaving.
